About FeatherPDF
FeatherPDF is a small collection of free PDF tools that run entirely in your web browser. Merge, split, rotate, organize, and convert PDFs and images without installing software, creating an account, or uploading a single file.
Who makes it
FeatherPDF is built and maintained by Joey Rasmussen, an independent software developer. I make small, privacy-first web tools that do one useful job well, without accounts, tracking, or uploads. FeatherPDF grew out of a simple frustration: needing to merge or split a private document and not wanting to hand a copy of it to a random website to get it done.
It is a solo, independent project, not a venture-backed company. That is deliberate. There is no growth team trying to turn your documents into data, because the tools never receive your documents in the first place.
Why privacy comes first
Most online PDF tools upload your file to a server, process it there, and send it back. FeatherPDF does the opposite: every operation happens locally, on your own device, using your browser. Your documents are never transmitted to me, so there is nothing for anyone to see, store, or leak. That design is the whole point of the project, not a feature bolted on afterward.
What it makes
Today FeatherPDF offers six tools: Merge PDF, Split PDF, JPG to PDF, Rotate PDF, PDF to JPG, and Organize PDF. Each one is built to do a single job well, with no upsells, watermarks, or file-size paywalls. I add a tool when I find a job worth doing simply and privately, and the guides explain how each one works and when the in-browser approach is the right choice.
How it stays free
FeatherPDF is funded through unobtrusive display advertising, so the tools can stay free for everyone with no account required. Ads are never shown the contents of your files, because those files are never uploaded. You can read more in the privacy policy.
